Meerkats probably need no introduction from me. These cute characters seem to have found a place in many peoples hearts. Their comedic antics and exceptional curiosity are endlessly engaging. But for me it is their collective approach to life, working as a team to overcome the challenges in their world that is so exceptional.

I have a great fondness for Zebras. Their 'Yip-Yip-Yip' call is one of the defining sounds of Africa for me - particularly when heard at night when it indicated lions were on the prowl.
