I spent a fun hour photographing this mother and near grown pups fishing in a wetland channel. They were quite undisturbed and catching fish with an amazing efficiency. Every so often they'd just feel the need to cheque out the weird creature on the bank...

I love otters. they have such fascinating and ebullient characters, cheeky good looks and an apparent enthusiasm for life that is infectious.

Viewing otters underwater really lets you appreciate that this is THEIR element. Their grace, speed and agility is really something to behold.
